The concert starts with a performance of a short, extraordinarily touching song 'Last Letter Home' by Lee Hoiby. The text is a letter written by a soldier in the US army to his wife, son and unborn baby when he was sent to Iraq, only to be given to his family if he was killed in action.
The baritone is Philip Tebb, from the Opera School of the Royal College of Music.
