Benjamin has established a reputation as one of the UK?s leading instrumentalists.

As Principal Cello of the BBC Concert Orchestra he performs regularly on Radio and Television and has appeared as a concerto soloist on Radio 3. He has also recorded as a solo artist on the Dutton label. You can hear him featured on many film soundtracks, TV programs and wildlife documentaries.
As guest Principal Cello he has worked with many of the countries Orchestra?s and before joining the BBC CO he was a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra. In demand as a chamber musician he plays regularly with the Fibonacci Sequence, with which he has recorded works by Brahms, Elgar, Messiaen and Schubert on the Dutton and Deus-Elles labels. Last year he was appointed a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music.
Benjamin is deeply grateful to Kathron Sturrock for the loan of a wonderful Ouchard bow in memory of her late husband Professor David Bennett.
