Marije Ploemacher

Marije Ploemacher grew up in the Netherlands where she studied with Joyce Tan, Jan Repko, Davina van Wely and Ilya Gruberts at the conservatoires of Utrecht and Amsterdam. She was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and led the Netherlands Youth String Orchestra for many years. In 2002 Marije came to England to continue her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music. She is a founder member of the Navarra Quartet with whom she has won numerous prizes and awards. Outside the quartet Marije is in much demand as a chamber musician and is frequently invited to perform with ensembles such as the Aronowitz Ensemble, Schubert Ensemble and London Bridge Ensemble.

Marije plays a Vicenzo Panormo kindly on loan from the Dutch Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds.
