Paul Archibald
Wind: trumpet

Paul Archibald was a prizewinner in the 1981 Toulon Prix de Concours and has held principal positions in orchestras such as the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the London Sinfonietta. He was a member of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and is a founder member of the English Brass Ensemble. As a soloist he performs regularly with the London Mozart Players, Britten Sinfonia and Orchestra of St Johns, and his interests in contemporary music include many performances of new works for both solo trumpet and brass ensemble. His recordings for CD include the Haydn and Hummel concertos and works by Andre Jolivet and Cecilia McDowall.
