Brijuni View 2006

In June, Yuko Inoue (viola) and Kathron Sturrock (piano) were the guests of Professor Vladimir Gasparovic, Zagreb, and played a concert of Bridge, Bach and Brahms for the 3rd Central European Congress on Intensive Medicine, held on the beautiful island of Brijuni, Croatia. The concert took place in the ancient church of St Francis monastery in Pula, on the mainland, the most lovely setting imaginable, but the timing of the concert had to be very carefully managed in order for the 100 or so delegates to be in time to catch the last ferry back to the island.........the evening ended with champagne on the terrace of the hotel looking out over the sea, still warm enough not to need a jacket at midnight - heaven! This picture is of the bay where we could swim when the last boat had left and we had the island to ourselves -
