Ursula Gough

Ursula Gough studied medicine at Cambridge University before going on to study the violin with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music in London, and then with Thomas Brandis at the Hochschule der Kunste in Berlin. On returning to England she began freelancing with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, London Sinfonietta and the London Symphony Orchestra. She performs fairly regularly with other chamber ensembles, including the Composer's Ensemble, the Gaudier Ensemble, and the Schubert Ensemble. For three years she was Principal 2nd Violin in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, before deciding to leave in order to have more time for chamber music.
